Just up the road, The Great Grand Mesa, the worlds largest flattop mountain, at elevation 11,332 feet, flourishes with alpine scenery, including mature Aspen groves, Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, hundred mile views, and over 300 lakes. You literally feel like you’re on top of the world.
One can ski, snow shoe, snowmobile, mountain bike, hunt for Trophy Elk, fly fish for Rainbow Trout, raft the Colorado River, target practice at the Cameo Shooting Complex, or stay at home and be pampered at the resorts Highlander Lodge.
The Lodge will provide elbow room and let one spread out a bit. Its 10th Mtn. Tavern, honoring America’s brave WWII soldiers on skis, who trained in the Colorado Rockies, will feature Slauterhouse Brewing Companies beer & bourbon line, a Continental Dining Menu, Palisade wines, and include local sustainable produce, with full delivery service to all the Villas.
The Lodge also has a fitness center, spa, pool and world class wine cellar. Shuttle service from Grand Junction Airport to the Resort, and ski resort is an included amenity as a Powderhorn Highlands Guest/Owner. Powderhorn Highlands will also implement features to reduce its overall footprint, including solar fields, wind power, and water reclamation.
Grand Junction, just 30 minutes up I-70, the Western Slopes largest city, boasts an award-winning main street, perfect for strolling while exploring boutique shops and enjoying local cuisine. One can shop the galleries, catch a film, or concert at the historic Avalon Theatre, or Los Colonias Amphitheater. The town of Palisade, 20 minutes away, is a quaint western town known as the peach and wine capital of Colorado. Nestled along the Colorado River, Palisade is home to over 30 wineries, many festivals and a vibrant local community of artisans and musicians.
