THE BOULDERS • LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, TN

The Boulders at Lookout Mountain is a 7.6 acre new home development that is part of a larger 50 acre conservation area that will be protected through the Lookout Mountain Conservancy for generations to come.

The development takes extra care in remaining good stewards of the land and minimizing its urban footprint. The design includes the use of semi permeable materials such as crushed river rock parkways and pathways, open drainage swales, rain barrels at every home, and site specific solar panels where applicable. The development will also utilize the existing on-site brick for the dry laid brick roadways.

This brick will be repurposed from Southern Saddlery owner Robert Scholze’s Far Enough Estate, which once sat proudly on the property. As legend has it that after repeated flooding of his home on Broad Street, Robert and his sons walked “far enough” to be out of the flood plane.

The communities “far enough pavilion” will be built at the same location as the estate and become a historic gathering place for all in the community to share. Amenities will include a full kitchen, health facilities and event rooms.

The area surrounding The Boulders at Lookout Mountain has an extensive network of hiking trails and some of the best “bouldering” in the country. It is also the gateway to the Guild Trail, an old abandoned narrow gauge railway that will take hikers all the way to the top of Lookout Mountain and Point Park, part of the Chickamauga Battlefield National Park system.
